Dental Cleanings & Exams

Clean Teeth Equal a Healthy Mouth!

When it comes to preventing damage, decay, and other problems that can happen in your mouth, nothing is more important than keeping your teeth clean. Every day your teeth become covered in a sticky film called plaque – it’s an unavoidable part of eating and drinking. Plaque contains bacteria that produce acids, which can slowly eat away at your tooth enamel, eventually causing decay and cavities. Oral care at home does a great job of preventing this damage, but it isn’t the only necessary component of good dental health!

At Avant Dental, we are dedicated to keeping your teeth clean and healthy. Regular exams and professional cleanings at one of our four offices is your key to a lifelong smile!

An Avant Dental Cleaning: What To Expect

When you’re at our office, it’s all about you. Your time in our chair won’t be wasted, and we’ll work hard to make sure you get taken care of in a timely manner. From the second you walk in the door, you’ll feel at home as our staff greets you. You’ll be able to have a seat after checking in, and we’ll get to your appointment right on time – we know how valuable every minute of your day can be!

Your appointment will start with some time to meet our staff and get comfortable. We’ll never rush you from place to place if you’re not ready to go! We’ll take X-rays to give us a comprehensive picture of your oral health. We can also use our intraoral camera to get a live look inside the hardest-to-see areas of your mouth, giving us instant feedback and helping us see problems we might not spot otherwise!

Our VIP patient experience continues with your dental cleaning. We’ll take care of any plaque that’s worked its way into the hard-to-reach places in your mouth and give your teeth a new lustre!

Once your cleaning is complete and you’ve had any necessary fluoride treatments, you’ll have a chance to meet with your dentist to discuss the future of your treatment. Using the X-rays and intraoral camera results we gathered, you’ll be able to work with your dentist to determine what procedures you might need, the best cleaning schedule for you, and any other work you may want to have done. You’ll be well on your way to a happy, healthy smile!

How Often Should I See the Dentist?

We recommend that you come to Avant Dental for a dental exam and cleaning every six months. This will give us the chance to find any problems before they get worse, and to undo any damage that may have been caused by plaque acids.

For some patients who have symptoms of gum disease, we may recommend more frequent visits until we can be sure that all symptoms of infection have been resolved and you’re back to a healthy state. Based on the recommendations you get from your dentist at your appointment, you’ll be able to schedule future visits, both routine and special, before you leave. We’ll take good care of you!

If you’ve been away from the dentist for a while, you might worry about being scolded or lectured about the lapse in your dental care. Don’t worry about that with us! We’ll never shame or embarrass you – we’re just glad you’ve chosen us to be the place you call home for your future oral health!

If you need a cleaning or an exam of your teeth, don’t wait for care you can get now! Call your nearest Avant Dental office today for an appointment, or schedule one using our convenient online form. We look forward to seeing you soon!
